DEEP IMPACT ON ATTITUDE TO LIFE
"I came across the guided meditation workshop with Desiree when I was experiencing insomnia and had the idea to try meditation as a way to help me calm my thoughts before sleep. What struck me from the first day I came for Desiree's workshop was the positive energy I felt about her. The environment inspired confidence and calmness.Even though each session was scheduled to last one our every Sunday for three weeks, we spend 2-3 hours with her. She took time to dispel any misconceptions one might have about meditation, which was important to me. She also took time to listen to our experiences after the meditation and provide us with advice and additional tips. I particularly appreciated this part of the workshop. It was evident that Desiree deeply cared about every one of her "pupils" and the lasting effect on our well-being. Her wonderful, soothing, calming voice when she guided us in our learning journey, got me hooked to meditation. Through her I learnt to connect to my inner self and draw strength from it, and most importantly be comfortable with my thoughts. "After reading a handful of self help books, I had tried to meditate a number of times with no luck. My interpretation of meditation was clearing the mind completely and i was always disappointed when this didn't happen. The 45-minute guided regression on Past Life was very relaxing and I managed to have some glimpse of a few scenes of my "past lives" and one of the key lessons my intuition taught me during the session was to remember to "let go", particularly on some of the problems I am experiencing now. Thanks Desiree and I look forward to another similar session again :) "

I learned a lot about the fundamentals of meditation and useful methods to calm myself down, as well as to lift myself up - very helpful in my daily work. "Initially, I was doubtful about how effective meditation would be for me. I always thought they'd only work for "normal" people. I've suffered from depression and anxiety attacks for years and have been on medication and gone for therapy sessions. Medication for my anxiety always felt like a temporary fix. So I figured there was no harm in trying out meditation. I've found meditation so effective that I do it on a daily basis and have even signed up for additional sessions.
Desiree's warmth and caring nature immediately puts you at ease. Sometimes we think of people who do these things as being too 'spacey' but Desiree is not like that at all! She's a modern day woman who has tools to make her life the very best it can be and wishes this for all.
Previously, when I've tried meditating on my own, trying to clear my mind of all thoughts, I couldn't do it. Thoughts just kept flooding in and I ended up feeling even more frustrated. Desiree employs a much more doable technique where she gets you to visualize objects or scenarios. Having something to focus on made it a lot easier and enjoyable. She emphasises on how there's no right or wrong way of meditating, which takes a lot of pressure off first-timers. She gently guides you through the process but it's up to you to do whatever feels most comfortable. Whatever "floats your boat"!
I have been trying to improve my relationship with my father. My psychiatrist suggested that I just had to let him win arguments. That it wasn't worth it to prove to him how right I was when clearly he was wrong. I got frustrated trying this and felt like I was making myself emotionally and mentally worse. I knew what she was telling me to do made logical sense. But emotionally, I couldn't apply it.
Contrastingly, in the Heart meditation session, Desiree led us to try and forgive someone. I chose my father. I visualised him in front of me and as I focused on forgiving him, I saw him morph into a young boy. My father had a very difficult relationship with his father. Seeing my father as a young boy reminded me of this and made me realise that he may still carry a lot of baggage from his relationship with his own father. Baggage that I can definitely relate to. In this aspect, I understood that he and I had more in common than I thought. And as a result, I can empathise with him.
This in turn hasn't made me just give in to our arguments, but rather to find peaceful solutions and to not be so much on the offense. Considering how much I was paying for therapy and it was proving ineffective, I'm really glad I tried out meditation!
I'm definitely feeling the positive effects. I'm a lot more at peace these days and have fewer panic attacks. Of course it's not an instant fix and I do have my bad days, but I feel much more in control and hopeful. If you've suffered from depression, you'd know it's almost impossible to feel hopeful. It has helped me to shift my perspective from (previously seemingly uncontrollable) negative thoughts to focusing on more positive ones. I'm happy to say that I no longer feel the need to see my therapist or take my medication. "

It was so amazing!

"My first experience with Meditation, they always say first impression is everything and my first impression was a caring, open and understandable experience. Even though I was asleep, I know it still worked for me subconsciously. The following week, it was raining ideas for a personal creative project I'm working on.
Desiree has a natural gift to make people feel at ease. It is a lot more fun to do visualisation as compared to the classic 'focus-on-your-breath-and-empty-your-mind' meditation."

Personally, I have also learnt to let go and relax! To listen to my body more and be more connected with it.

"I definitely noticed emotional, physical and spiritual change after one meditation!
Emotionally - more awareness, Physically - less pain, Spiritually - feel lighter and cleansed! I have learnt how to protect myself energetically daily and repel all negative energy, instead of absorbing it.
Although at first I thought it would be difficult to meditate, Desiree was able to lead me through the session easily. I felt like I could trust her even blindfolded; that she would 'show' me the way, the kind of person who will stand behind me and catch me if i fell! She has Loads of good, positive 'energy' to be influenced by!
I don't think one session is enough, I suggest at least three sessions. I think that 3 sessions would have helped develop that special bond and get to know her better!

"After the meditation, I instantly felt alot calmer for sure. My body felt rejuvenated and I knew I had genuinely 'shut off' for that hour. My body had had a break and I'd left everything behind. It was a vacation for the body and mind for sure and it felt very good! :)

Without a doubt the meditation is helpful. It's a chance to rest your body and mind. And this is hugely helpful in the world we live in now. You constantly feel like you always have to be "on" and this session was the break from it all my body and mind really needed.
Personally, I have also learnt to let go and relax! To listen to my body more and be more connected with it.

"I definitely noticed emotional, physical and spiritual change after one meditation!
Emotionally - more awareness, Physically - less pain, Spiritually - feel lighter and cleansed! I have learnt how to protect myself energetically daily and repel all negative energy, instead of absorbing it.
Although at first I thought it would be difficult to meditate, Desiree was able to lead me through the session easily. I felt like I could trust her even blindfolded; that she would 'show' me the way, the kind of person who will stand behind me and catch me if i fell! She has Loads of good, positive 'energy' to be influenced by!
I don't think one session is enough, I suggest at least three sessions. I think that 3 sessions would have helped develop that special bond and get to know her better!
